Sunday Funday

Step Brothers is the pick for this Sunday Funday. It's a stupid humor about two brothers who are forced into a relationship because their parents are getting married. Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, pictured above, who will have you laughing through the entire movie with their one-liners.
 Spaghetti Carbonara
Serves up to 4 to 6 people
1lb of Spaghetti (I used Fettucini because I prefer a thicker noodle)
1/4 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Table spoon of Unsalted Butter
1 medium yellow onion minced (chop the onion while chewing gum and you will avoid tears)
3 cloves of garlic minced
4 ounces of Prosciutto diced
3 large egg yolks (room temperature)
1/2 cup of heavy cream (room temperature)
1/2 cup of grated Parmesano Reggiano cheese
fresh ground pepper to taste
Take a saute pan and over medium heat melt the butter and oil together. Once melted add onion, garlic, and prosciutto. Cook until prosciutto is crispy and onion has a translucent appearance. While the onions, prosciutto, and garlic are cooking mix together the egg yolk, heavy cream, and cheese in a separate bowl. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente (firm not hard). Strain the pasta. Once strained place the pasta in the saute pan over high heat. Mix the everything together until coated and remove from heat. Take the whisked cream and egg yolk and pour over pasta. Mix the pasta well and serve. Enjoy!

Sunday Funday

Home-made Pizza (that turned into bread sticks)
On this lovely Sunday Funday I attempted making an easy home made pizza. I usually am pretty capable at placing the dough in a somewhat round fashion on the cookie sheet, but tonight it turned out looking like Italy.
Since my pizza dough won the fight, I ended up skipping the pizza sauce step and using that as a dipping sauce. It's so easy and VERY budget friendly to make home made pizza. Trader Joe's has the best pizza dough. I usually buy 3 and throw them in the freezer for when I have the post party munchies.
My pizza sticks are accompanied with pizza sauce and ranch.
1 bag of pizza dough
1 jar of pizza sauce
2 cups of any type of cheese you like (mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, Swiss, Gruyere, etc.)
3 slices of ham
1 sprig of rosemary chopped
1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of canola or vegetable oil
Set your oven to 500 degrees. On a baking sheet add canola or vegetable oil and even it out on the pan. Thaw out your pizza dough (if frozen) and try to stretch the dough. I usually try and stretch out the dough by pulling the dough.  Place the dough on the pan once stretched out or until you have given up. Sprinkle the garlic powder over the dough. Add as much pizza sauce as you wish or you could always save it for a dipping sauce later. Add the cheese.  Take the ham and tear into tiny pieces and place on top of the cheese. Add the rosemary. Place the pizza in the oven for ten minutes or until edges are golden brown. Enjoy!
Is it pathetic that I am confessing that I watched The Last Song just because I couldn't take my eyes off Liam Hemsworth? Yes, that is him pictured above. It was probably the worst acting EVER by Miley Cyrus, but Liam stole my heart. If you are looking for a hott hunk to stare at for an hour and a half  The Last Song is your pick.

Sunday Funday

Happy Single Awareness Day! I thought it would only be appropriate to have sweets included on this Sunday Funday. So of course I'm going to be sharing my Grandmother's recipe for Raspberry Pie.
4 square containers of raspberries
1 frozen pie crust
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
half a cup of sugar
1 cup + 1/4 cup of water
2+1/2 tablespoon of raspberry jello mix
Rinse the raspberries in a colander and set aside. Bake the pie crust at 400 degrees for ten minutes or until crust is a light brown. Let cool on rack. Take the cornstarch, sugar, and water and place in a small pan over high heat. Stir until it boils then remove from the heat. Add the jello powder to the pan and stir. Place this mixture over the berries in a bowl and make sure the berries are covered. Then take the berries and pour into the baked pie crust. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until serving. Enjoy!
Alright ladies. Go grab one of your best friends, a bottle of wine and watch When Harry Met Sally. If you haven't seen this movie you are deprived. This movie is part of the classics that you just have to see in life i.e. The Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind, Chinatown, etc. Yes, I just went there. I don't even want to give a synopsis of the movie because I don't want to spoil anything. All I will say is if you haven't seen it it's must, and if you already have rent it again!

New Addition

I am so tired of wearing black to my internship. To stay business casual it seems so hard to go outside the lines of black. I added this dress to the Sorrelle B West Coast collection. The picture doesn't give the dress justice on the stitching and lines of the dress. This dress is from Tracy Reese's Pre-Spring 2011 collection.  Great collection! Here are some other clothes from her Spring/Summer 2011 collection:

You can find her collection at Nordstrom's or at tracyreese.com

Sunday Funday

Another week has past and here we are. Sunday Funday, yet again. I hope everyone enjoyed their Super Bowl Sunday. Big shout out to hottie Aaron Rodgers, pictured above, for winning the game [call me!]. Now, onto more of an important topic: COMFORT FOOD. The ultimate comfort food (well Sorelle B west coast opinion) is pancakes. Sorelle B east coast would most likely claim mac n' cheese. Here is an easy recipe that tastes fabulous at any hour.
1 Bisquick Shake n' Pour
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of honey
Butter
First, follow the instructions on the back of the Shake n' Pour. Second, add all of the above ingredients and shake. Take a pan with 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and add as much bisquick batter as your please. Don't flip the pancake until all the bubbles of air have popped. If you have an old banana laying around slice it up and throw it in a pan with some butter. Brown both sides and it instantly turns into a perfect topping with your pancakes.
The above picture is from the movie "Uncle Buck." In that scene John Candy's character has made pancakes for his nephews he is babysitting. The movie also stars Macaulay Culkin as one of the nephews. Candy's character is asked to baby sit when the parents of Culkin's character have to leave town to attend a funeral. It's a slap stick comedy that the will have you laughing from beginning to end.
P.S. Who loved Fergie's outfit at the half time show?? I DID!

Those glammed shoulder pads were awesome!
