Sunday Funday

Every Sunday we will have a post called "Sunday Funday." We will be posting a movie that we think is worth watching and a recipe to accompany. This week the movie is, The Town. If you haven't fallen in love with Ben Affleck yet, you definitely will after watching this film.
The recipe to accompany is called, "Pappardelle."
1lb of Pappardelle Pasta
Half of a bag of Arugula or Rocket
8 ounces of fresh sliced Shitake Mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
A pinch of Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 of a cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 of a cup of Parmesan Reggiano
Fresh Ground Pepper for Taste
(Serves up to 4 people)
Take a large saute pan and add 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes over medium-high heat. Add the sliced shitake mushrooms to the pan. Cook the mushrooms until they are golden brown. While the mushrooms are cooking boil a large pot of water for the papardelle and cook until al dente (firm not hard). Once the pasta is cooked strain the pasta in a collander and add the it to the saute pan. Turn the heat to high and add the remaining extra virgin olive oil. Cook for another minute or two mixing the mushrooms, garlic, pasta, parmesan and pepper to taste. Remove the pan from the heat and add two handfuls of arugula and mix with the pasta. Once you have placed the pasta on a dish add the remaining arugula on top. Enjoy!
If you are watching the movie with a boyfriend or best friend you will definitely need a dessert recipe. "Sorelle B East Coast Dessert" would be perfect.
2 ripe Nectarines
4 leaves of Basil sliced
Honey to taste
(Serves 2 people)
Chop up the Nectarines and add them to a bowl. Place the sliced basil on top of the nectarine and a splash of honey. Enjoy!
